Windows 8.1 Update 1 has been officially released. The easiest way to update is to visit PC Settings (available from the new right-side Charms bar), and click “Update and recovery.” If you want to download the standalone Windows 8.1 Update 1 files, follow the instructions below.
There are two ways to install the Windows 8.1.1 Update
  1. you can update via windows updater
  2. Or you can download and install updates manually
Notes

  • You must have Windows 8.1 (not 8) installed on your computer before installing any of these updates.
  • These updates are larger than 700MB, so you will need a good internet connection
